Mairaj Nomani 'CHO' 1231 Role: CEO, Captain 1st Team BMI 25.14 |
Life Time-CEO of Ghaznavis. Man with a vision (prescription glasses) and persistence, Mairaj is a tremendous game planner. Ghaznavi is the brain child of our "CHO" and "Baaba Saeen". Right Arm Swing Bowler, Right Hand 1-down batsman. His off drives are a shadow of Zaheer Abbas. His two best innings have come in playoff years (87* in '94 Quarters and 60 in '01 Semis) Bowled out of necessity in '98 and took wickets regularly until he quit bowling in 2003 and again restarted in 2005. Scored over 400 runs in the '94 championship year (was the best batsman that year). 2002 was his best year with the bat since '94 (almost 300 runs). Per record and ability the club's best captain-ever (won B2B championships in '01 & '02). His late swinging medium pace, his excellent use of the V in batting and his super sense of humor makes him an ideal leader. Link of TDCA records: 2002- |

Nabeel Mirza 'Baba Saeen' 1232 Role: Chief Operating Officer (COO) BMI: 26.1 |
"The brain behind". He did almost everything off the field ('94-04) and Captain or VC of 1st team ('94-05). Captained the 2nd team in '04 and 2nd half of '06, grooming youngsters. Respectfully nicknamed Baaba Saeen (a la, his Sindhi heritage) he is a living embodiment of cricket. His knowledge of cricket is uncanny and his statistical mind, never-loose-hope attitude and determination makes him an ideal motivator (our Stephen Covey). A gentleman cricketer. TDCA's 3rd Division's best batsman (average: 52.6) for 2001 . His 2nd best year was '94 championship year (SCA) when he scored almost 500 runs and took 34 wickets. The team's most economical bowler in '94-02 (less than 3 runs/over/season) & best all-rounder ('94-'99)- averaging almost 300 runs and 25 wickets/season. At 43, his offspinning shooters, his calm batting and his safe hands close to the wicket still makes him an integral part of the Ghaznavi. Link of TDCA records: 2002- |

Juniad Alam 'Johnny' 1233 BMI 24.37 |
First Captain of Ghaznavis in 2001 - that's a very brave call, in front of 6 former Captains. Opening batsman (we call him Terminator) & a quick In fielder who also has kept wickets for us eversince he joined this group in '98. He is an excellent example of fighting till the last ball. Scores his runs very quickly and in bunches. A real killer of fast bowlers, scoring 29 runs in one over of a Premier TDCA bowler in a SCA 50-over game in 2001 and the fastest fifty (17 balls) in a 2nd division game in TDCA in 2002. That year was his best one as a Ghazi. Best "ever" run-rate(runs/balls) for Ghaznavis. He took a break from Cricket in 2006. He is back for good. Link of TDCA records: 2002- |
 Aftab Hussain 'Deva' 1235 BMI 24.46 |
Aftab is one of the few southpaws in our team - we sometimes call him Ghaznavi's "Wasim Akram"; Not only look-alike, his bowling action is also similar. He is also a hard hitting (understatement) lower order batsman and a useful bowling outfielder. 2002's playoffs MVP for his bowling heroics, he also hit 5 consecutive sixes in a SCA 20-over game in '01. A 'benchmarked' team player, Ghaznavis have a high dependability on his late inning heroics (with the bat) and his ability to take lots of wickets. In fact he has been the leagues' 3rd Division's highest wicket takers, 4 years running (2003-07). Winner of the most "individual" trophies from league and Ghaznavi and the 1st Ghazi scholarship winner. He is the 'Deva' a la Lagaan of our team. Link of TDCA records: 2002- |
Imran Saleem 'Tiger' 1239 Role: Chairman Non-Op. Committee BMI 23.13 |
A Top Notch ALL ROUNDER and a fighter who can single handedly turn the match, A devastating fast bowler, dependable lower middle order bat and a world class fielder. A jovial personality off the field BUT changes to a pro and all serious winning attitude on the field. MVP and best allrounder of our club for 4 years('00--'03). Also won three individual batting and bowling honors from TDCA in 2002. The "Tiger" has taken more "total"wickets than any Ghaznavi since he joined in 1998. Captained the side in few games of 2000. Imran is our real 'Bhuvan', a la Lagaan. Link of TDCA records: 2002- |
 Ikram Ul-Haq 'Iswar Kaka' 1245
BMI 23.13 |
RAJA Ji is one of the finest swing bowler in the division. His major strength of identifying batsman's weakness has earned him a lot of wickets He also coaches our young and budding seam bowlers. Raja loves to bat and has played some great innings in his chequered career. Responsible to motivate and bring majority of the players into Ghaznavis (Juniad, Javed, Imran,Aftab). Still very fit and a very stingy bowler known to break long partnerships. In '02, won the First GHAZI award. Link of TDCA records: 2002- |
 Saleem Deshmukh 'Saloo' 1246 BMI 30.04 |

Middle order batsman and useful change bowler. A specialist gully fielder The man from Mumbai, Saleem is the fighting-spirit of Ghaznavi who is not afraid to speak his mind. Saloo captained our SCA 1st Division team in 2001. Sush is the person who brought the ingredients of this Club together in 1994. Initially bringing in Tahir, Ali, Nabeel, Khan, Harim and Mairaj in Royals. A tremendous opening batsman who scored 700 runs in one season (1st Div,SCA, '94), he now is the mainstay of our middle order. A wily leg spinner, he started bowling regularly in 2000. Sush is a specialist cover fielder The most experienced of all Ghaznavis, is a serious student and teacher of the game If Sush fails, Ghaznavis fails - we sure have a high dependence on Sushi. Adnan Hashmi 'Ed' 1514 BMI 24.79 (5' 7"- 168) |
Eddy became a Ghaznavi in late 2001and started his TDCA career with a bang in 2002. A right handed opening bat, a medium pacer and an infielder, Adnan finished 2002 and 2003 as Ghaznavis' most outstanding batsmen of the year and just missed getting the 'most-runs' award from the league in both years. He scored the Ghazi's second century. Great cricketing acumen, Adnan has played some very good Cricket in Karachi and Middle East and has quickly adjusted to different cricket pitches in Canada. An accountant by profession, he makes his runs in bunches and in-a hurry. Link of TDCA records: 2002- |
